sticks
i primarily use ahead lars signature sticks, wrapped with gamma grip. otherwise i go with promark forward 5b, sometimes with ahead gloves if the going gets sweaty. my hands are also pretty heavy, so better durability and thicker shoulders yield a bit more mileage per pair. for rudiment work i use john wooton’s “throwdowner” sticks for strength and speed building. oh, and not a stick, but I’m lucky enough to own a dope dale crover drum key.
where I shop (mostly)
most of my gear is used! portland is home to the amazing revival drum shop, from where i’ve pieced together my kit. i can always come up with a good excuse to drop by (just ask my family).
