01 / About

Emmanuel Ahishakiye is the founder of Foundly and builds AI systems for aviation and institutional knowledge. Foundly develops software for airport and airline lost-property operations.

His work spans retrieval systems, knowledge graphs, financial operations, automation, and enterprise software. He writes The Latitude Series about AI history, institutional memory, business, society, power, and the future of work, and studies Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Business Information Systems at the University of Rochester.

The Latitude Series

Published on LinkedIn

Published chapters.

I started The Latitude Series because the most interesting questions about AI are usually about people. Every major change in computing eventually becomes a question about who has power, how work changes, what we remember, and what we are willing to hand over.

We are entering the age of agentic AI, when software can do more than answer questions: it can plan and act. Robotics is giving that intelligence a physical presence, while quantum computing may change the scale of problems machines can solve. Together, these technologies will influence how money moves, how businesses compete, how work is organized, and where power sits. We still have autonomy: people set the goals, write the rules, and decide what these systems are for.

AI: The Past, the Present, and the Future of Humanity moves from the internet to AI and what may come next, across business, the future of work, technology, and society. It combines nonfiction with science fiction based on events that could happen. The published chapters move from curiosity and institutional memory to entrepreneurship, finance, and the infrastructure behind the global AI race. If we can build machines that travel beyond Earth, what might those machines one day build for us?

Ideas in the series

Agentic AI
Software that can plan, use tools, and act toward a goal.
Human autonomy
The capacity to choose and act without surrendering judgment to automated systems.
The internet
Infrastructure that reduced the cost of publishing, coordination, and access to knowledge.
Robotics
The point at which computation gains sensors, movement, and physical consequences.
Quantum computing
Computation based on quantum effects, with potential advantages for specific classes of problems.
AI infrastructure
The chips, data centers, networks, cooling systems, and energy behind modern machine intelligence.
Technological sovereignty
A country's capacity to operate critical systems without unacceptable dependence on infrastructure controlled elsewhere.
Institutional memory
How knowledge persists across people, records, and systems.
Future of work
How automation changes labor, expertise, ownership, and productivity.
Society & power
How technical systems redistribute authority, access, and control.
Money & business
How lower production costs alter markets, firms, entrepreneurship, and value.
Possible futures
Imagined stories based on technology and choices that already exist.
