How accessible are your website and documents?
Here you can check your website or a PDF document, for free. A website is checked on five pages against WCAG 2.2, a PDF document against PDF/UA. Choose what you want to check and see the result right away. The full report comes as a PDF.
Most frequent
The tool found no failures it is sure about. The report says what it cannot see.
Documents
Get the report
The report covers the five pages: every defect type explained in plain language, with WCAG criterion, consequence for the user, fix and examples from your pages. As a page with a link for 30 days and as a PDF.
The report is free, but not anonymous. To get it you give your name, company, email and phone. Within two working days I call and talk the report through with you. On the call I offer a manual test of the website and a full report of the whole website, not just the five pages. Both are paid services. Whether you buy anything is up to you.
An automated check finds some of the defects, but not all of them. The rest I find with a screen reader and a keyboard, on the website and in the documents.
Services
Everything is tested in practice, with the assistive technology blind and visually impaired people actually use.
-
WCAG testing and web accessibility
WCAG testing with real screen readers, advice on requirements and accessible documents.
-
Tactile 3D design
Evacuation plans, maps, museum objects and models that can be explored by hand.
-
Assistive technology training
Screen readers, smartphones, braille and GPS for employees, citizens and private persons, and courses for professionals.
-
AI development, tools and workshops
I am not a software developer, but I know Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, security and privacy well enough to build, test and deploy apps, programs and websites responsibly. I describe, AI builds, and I test until it works. I teach that, and I build it for you.
Do you have something that needs to work, for blind users or with AI? Let us talk about what it takes. The first call is free.

- As a customer I could not log in to the online bank from the bank's website with a screen reader. I wrote to the bank, which led to a meeting and a quote for an accessibility test of the whole website. I went through midspar.dk with a screen reader and keyboard against WCAG.
He found things our tools had not caught. A good reminder that tools and data can take us far, but they cannot always replace the people who actually use what we build.
Christina Welling, head of digital marketing, Middelfart Sparekasse, translated from Danish.

- The organisation's government affairs team had bought a new interactive map as an ArcGIS dashboard and needed to know whether it met their accessibility requirements. I went through the map with a screen reader and tested contrast, alternative text and keyboard operation.
Edis did an excellent job preparing a report for our team. We look forward to working with him again in the future.
James Betterson, National Apartment Association.

- A table from the organisation's website had to become an accessible PDF. I rebuilt the table in Word and tagged it in Adobe Acrobat with reading order, header cells and alternative text, so screen reader users can read it cell by cell.
Edis did an excellent job making our PDF accessible and we are looking forward to working with him again soon!

- Expert interview as input to the development of a new assistive technology product for people with limited mobility. The team wanted to hear how assistive technology is used in practice, and where it fails.
Edis's thoughtful feedback and keen insights were instrumental in helping us refine our product. His ability to articulate ideas clearly and provide well-considered feedback was a testament to his expertise and commitment to the field of assistive technology. I highly recommend his services to anyone seeking a professional with both expertise and a heart for impactful work.

- The weekend event Syn på sagen brings together blind and partially sighted children and young people and their families. I ran a 3D printing workshop where the children got tactile models in their hands and saw how a print is made, and where the parents got answers on what tactile aids can do in everyday life. The year before, I gave the Camino talk for the same association.
It was a success in every sense. The kids were wild about 3D printing. Mads in particular has put a 3D printer on his wish list, and a couple of the parents asked for even more time and focus on the area.

- Kommunikationscenter Sydfyn, the municipal communication centre, has blind and partially sighted citizens who need to learn their ICT assistive technology. I teach the citizens in their own homes, together with the municipality's vision consultants, for example VoiceOver on iPhone and audiobooks from Nota, the Danish library for people with print disabilities.
We have a really good collaboration with Edis on ICT cases. We greatly value Edis's commitment, expertise and ability to meet each citizen in a respectful and appreciative way. He is a valuable partner whom we trust greatly. We always find that our citizens are in safe hands with him, and they describe him as both inspiring and motivating in his teaching.
Hanne Rudbeck, vision consultant and occupational therapist, Kommunikationscenter Sydfyn, translated from Danish.

- Magnus was born blind and is autistic. I have taught him since 2021: touch typing, his computer and braille display, and VoiceOver on iPad and iPhone. We share an interest in music, so GarageBand came along too. The lessons follow a fixed plan, so there is structure and predictability.
I was born blind and have really enjoyed being taught by Edis, who understands how a blind person needs to learn to find their way around a keyboard, for example. Edis taught me touch typing and taught me to use my computer and braille display, and VoiceOver on my iPad and iPhone. I am autistic and have really valued Edis's understanding of the structure and predictability I need.

- Ann-Sofie is blind and self-employed, offering intuitive animal communication, guidance and talks. Her booking system, Terapeutbooking, cannot be used with a screen reader. I built an accessible program on top of the system's API where she runs her calendar and clients by typing plain Danish: which appointments she has this week, move a session, send a reminder. An AI assistant interprets the command and the answer comes back structured, ready for the screen reader.
I have been playing with your thoroughly fantastic program. This is really going to change my everyday life. It will be so much easier. Thank you for a wonderful day. I think it is fantastic to work with you, and I truly hope it will not be the last time.
Ann-Sofie Martlev Apel, Det Indre Blik, translated from Danish.
