Add topicDisambiguation link notification for September 1
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Brenne (river), a link pointing to the disambiguation page Oze was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Poppo, Duke of Thuringia when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Specifying |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= needs to be defined in the template in order to work. You can look at the documentation for the template being used, but it is also helpful to use the preview button before saving an edit; this helps find any errors that have been made and ensures that the values added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is highly recommended that editors use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions of if I can help explain further, please let me know! You can also contact the help desk for assistance.

- Thanks for fixing it. You are right, info boxes can be tricky and there are a lot of deprecated parameters out there. I do use preview when editing them, but this must have slipped through. It was an interesting read and thanks for setting me straight. MerlinsCodex (talk) 04:41, 4 September 2026 (UTC)
- Of course! These things happen, just a good way to learn. Keep up the good work! Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 04:56, 4 September 2026 (UTC)

Catholicoi articles
[edit]Hi, thank you for creating articles for the Armenian Catholicoi! Overall, you've been doing a fine job of creating them, but I wanted to offer you a few quick pointers that will ease the burden of patrollers such as myself.
- Please verify that the dates you are adding are consistent with the source. I found that you incorrectly listed the period of Solomon I's catholicate; I have corrected that.
- Please swap in the following format for the citation of the 1827 translation of Chamich:
{{cite book |last=Chamich |first=Michael |url=https://archive.org/details/historyofarmenia01cham/ |title=History of Armenia |date=1827 |publisher=[[Bishop's College, Calcutta|Bishop College Press]] |volume=I |location=Calcutta |translator-last1=Avdall |translator-first1=Johannes |via=[[Archive.org]]}}
- Please avoid adding "of Armenia" to article names, especially when there is no one else with the same name and the subject does not take that title. See Wikipedia:Disambiguation for more details.
Thank you for your hard work! Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 20:31, 25 September 2026 (UTC)
- Glad you noticed it, I was working through several of the patriarchs who didn't really trouble the chroniclers, which is why they were left out. I didn't change any of the names of the pages, they had already been chosen by the author of the main list (List of catholicoi of all Armenians), I didn't want to change any of them in case they appeared on other pages. This is where I got the dates from as well, although I may have transcribed a few incorrectly. If I knew more about wiki scripts I'd automate it.
- I can swap that citation if you wish.
- I really have learnt about Armenia and its relationship with the Caliphate, fsacinating! MerlinsCodex (talk) 21:39, 25 September 2026 (UTC)
I didn't change any of the names of the pages, they had already been chosen by the author of the main list
When you're creating the articles, are you clicking on the red link on that list and creating the new article there? If so, that's an acceptable approach, but there are better options. You can create articles first in your user space (for example, User:Pbritti/sandbox) and move them to a name that reflects current Wikipedia naming policy once they're ready for publication. That list is decent, but it's also dated by a number of current policies' standards. Otherwise, you deserve to be proud of your work here. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 22:53, 25 September 2026 (UTC)- Yes, that's what i though was best practice. I'll move that one with the odd Catholicos prefix in his page name, and set up a redirect. MerlinsCodex (talk) 23:04, 25 September 2026 (UTC)
- Figured it out Stephen I already redirected to some other guy, so the list maker give our Patriarch a longer name. So I converted what was a redirect into a disambiguation page Stephen I of Armenia, and putting "not to be confused with" on those pages MerlinsCodex (talk) 23:11, 25 September 2026 (UTC)

Drafts
[edit]
Hello, MerlinsCodex, I'm Bearcat. Please note that pages in draft space, such as Draft:Walking Cricket are not allowed to be categorized alongside finished articles in mainspace, per WP:DRAFTNOCAT. The page must stay out of any categories so long as it is outside mainspace, and this is not an optional rule that you're free to disregard or ignore.
You can provisionally list categories in your draft without affecting content categories by using one of the methods described here.
As the page has had to be pulled out of categories twice in one month, do not readd it to categories again, because draft and sandbox pages are not allowed to be in content categories. Note as well that there can be consequences for disruption if it doesn't stop, such as page protection or deletion and/or the temporary or permanent suspension of your editing privileges.
You are not "fixing" categories by enabling them on a draft, as you claimed in your edit summary. Drafts are not allowed to be in categories, so enabling categories on a draft is broken and disabled categories are what's fixed. The reverse only becomes true in mainspace, and not in draftspace or userspace. Bearcat (talk) 15:18, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- Got it, my mistake, will revert MerlinsCodex (talk) 15:31, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- Its in mainspace now, so colons removed, and categories look OK MerlinsCodex (talk) 15:41, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Bearcat: this is an AI user, there's incontrovertible proof in the filter logs. ‑‑gurkubondinn 18:09, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

October 2026
[edit]
Please refrain from making edits generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology) to Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Abraham I of Armenia, as LLM-generated content is prohibited on Wikipedia. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you. ‑‑gurkubondinn 18:08, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Got it. I have now fully read the WP:LLM policy. My use of Gemini to generate the wiki format for citations is not allowed, as per the policy this use of AI has put a question on my other contributions.
- Remediation:
- No longer use Gemini to create "convenient" blocks of wiki text such as tables, infoboxes or citations.
- Rework the Piano article again, working in the draft space, then resubmit for approval (not sure how to do that).
- Rewrite the Abraham Armenia article, working in my sandbox, starting from scratch. MerlinsCodex (talk) 11:55, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
- No, "wikiformat" is a part of the article and you may not paste Gemini output into wikipedia. Read H:WIKITEXT instead or use the WP:VISUAL editor if you want a WYSIWYG approach. ‑‑gurkubondinn 11:57, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
Moór-Duplex piano moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Moór-Duplex piano. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it consists of AI-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ‑‑gurkubondinn 18:13, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- I'm a bit confused. The LLM message was triggered by the edits to Abraham I of Armenia, I will certainly look at that. But I don't understand why this page (the piano one) has been moved to Drafts. I got a warning a week ago, and totally rewrote it. I documented this on the Talk page of the article.
- When I look at the log Special:AbuseLog/45297780 I don't see anything about this piano at all. MerlinsCodex (talk) 18:36, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
