How folio.fyi prices cards

Where do the prices come from?

From real completed sales, filtered by language and market, never from asking prices: a card's price is the median of its recent sales, with outliers set aside. Cards that sell for very little, and cards with no recorded sale yet, show Cardmarket's monthly trend instead. The card page always says which of the two you are looking at.

How often are they updated?

The most traded cards are recalculated almost every day. Each median covers the most recent window, 7, 30 or 90 days, that holds enough sales, and the card page states that window, the number of sales behind the price and its date.

Why one price per language?

A French Charizard does not sell for the price of an English one. folio.fyi keeps English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese apart, with one price per printing.

What about graded cards?

Card pages list graded sales by grader and grade, PSA, CGC, BGS and others, next to the population reports: how many copies were graded and how many earned a 10. Cards that sell for very little are not followed sale by sale, so their pages show no graded prices.

Which games are covered?

Pokémon: its cards and sealed products are priced. Lorcana, One Piece and Dragon Ball Super Fusion World have card databases but no prices yet. A card with too few sales shows no price rather than a guess.
