I would like to start weston and/or a plasma 5.5 wayland session from sddm on Gentoo. Gentoo doesn't use systemd and so weston can't get permissions for drm and input and so I get "fatal: drm backend should be run using weston-launch binary or as root" in ~/.cache/wayland-errors.
According to the sddm developer "plfiorini" consolekit2 should implement the logind interface and a pam plugin that replaces pam_logind, or maybe it even already has this.
I would like to know if I have to forcedly switch to systemd or if there is any chance to start a wayland session with sddm and consolekit2 in the near future.
Thanks
