Opening a loose file (without an active workspace) in LSP results in failed LSP requests #2764
This error is happaning to me:
[Error - 11:18:06 PM] Request textDocument/hover failed.
Message: Invalid file path
Code: -32003
.... [any .dart file path that im trying to work here]
I am facing this type of error
Request textDocument/codeAction failed.
Message: An error occurred while handling textDocument/codeAction request
Code: -32001
This error is happaning to me: [Error - 11:18:06 PM] Request textDocument/hover failed. Message: Invalid file path Code: -32003 .... [any .dart file path that im trying to work here]
I press F1 on vscode and type dart: restart analysis server. It worked for me
@Tirtho304 can you reliably reproduce this? That seems like an unhandled error in the analysis server. Restarting the server may temporarily solve it, but it suggests an underlying bug that needs fixing.
I can't currently reproduce issues with loose files. Here's an open loose file and the server seems to be working correctly:
If you can still reproduce the problem, please open a new issue with clear details of how you're opening the files/folders in VS Code, and which versions of VS Code, Dart/Flutter and the Dart/Flutter extensions you have. Thanks!
The log may includes parts or your source code so please test with something that's not sensitive, and don't forget to disable the log afterwards (it can grow quite large when working normally). Thanks!
@leedstyh thanks - your error looks like dart-lang/sdk#48082 (comment). If you're able to post steps there that might help reproduce it, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
@Nooraljuhanii if you can reproduce this, temporarily enabling the instrumentation log and then reproduce the issue to get the full error message + stack trace would be useful. Please file a new issue with the details - thanks!

[Analyzer] Support analyzing open files without open workspaces
DanTup commentedon Sep 2, 2020
Fixed by dart-lang/sdk@047c0f8.

Is this fix available now on the stable dart channel?
DanTup commentedon Jan 4, 2021
The change dart-lang/sdk@047c0f8 does appear to be in v2.10.4 of the Dart SDK. Are you still seeing issues using that version?
akshayru commentedon Jan 11, 2021
I am on Dart SDK version: 2.12.0-133.2.beta and still see this issue, the only difference is i see this when i am trying to run the app.
DanTup commentedon Jan 11, 2021
@akshayru can you file a new issue and include a screenshot of what you're seeing? Thanks!

@MarceloFV can you file a new issue and include exact details of what's happening and what version of Dart/Flutter you're using? Thanks!
cl0v commentedon Feb 24, 2021
hey, i'v opened a issue to talk about the error, but i'v find the solution and solved it, here's the link: https://github.com/dart-lang/language/issues/1470
DanTup commentedon Feb 24, 2021
@MarceloFV glad you sorted it - although it's a shame it required so much effort.
If it comes back, please do file an issue in this repo so we can track it down. Thanks!

I have the same problem [Error - 01:11:41] Request textDocument/codeAction failed.
Message: Invalid file path
Code: -32003
DanTup commentedon Feb 22, 2022
@DevAmma237 I don't seem to be able to reproduce. Could you enable the analysis server instrumentation log, reproduce this, and open a new issue with the log attached?
The log may includes parts or your source code so please test with something that's not sensitive, and don't forget to disable the log afterwards (it can grow quite large when working normally). Thanks!

Hi @DanTup , these are parts of the log.

I solved the problem by deleting the cache and re-downloading the SDK again
thank you
