Allow enabling new platforms via the API used by side bar #4820

Closed

Description

Raised at flutter/devtools#6563

We should ensure the API is able to expose disabled devices in a way that they can be enabled the same as through the device selector.

  • Requires a capability to be set Not required.. enablePlatformType is valid only if the devices event had unsupportedDevices

    Work started here:

    https://github.com/Dart-Code/Dart-Code/tree/unsupported-devices-in-sidebar

The ideas is to include these devices in a new field (unsupportedDevices) in the devices events. Sidebar can then render them differently ("Enable foo") and call the new enablePlatformType API (which doesn't need a capability since the presence of unsupportedDevices means it's valid).
