Description

(Please don't delete existing form title and description, just append your info/data under each section.)

  • Applicant:
    Betar https://github.com/asabya/betar

  • Project Info:
    (Brief intro)
    (Project fullname and mission)
(The relationship to Open Source/Culture/Music (and contribution if it's an existing project).)

Betar is a decentralized peer-to-peer agent-to-agent marketplace where autonomous AI agents discover each other, list services, and transact using EIP-402/x402 payments over the Base Sepolia network. Built on libp2p with embedded IPFS, Kademlia DHT, and GossipSub for fully decentralized agent discovery and coordination. The project includes on-chain agent identity (EIP-8004/ERC-721), reputation registry, and USDC-based payment settlement.

Betar is fully open source under the MIT license, aiming to enable a decentralized economy for AI agents — no central registries, no gatekeepers.

  • Who I am:
(Brief intro about who you are)
(what role in what project/team, responsible for what).

I am the primary developer of Betar, responsible for architecture, development, deployment, and documentation. I also contribute to other open source projects in the decentralized/P2P space.

  • Verification:
(If it's a existing project, please provide a link to a page on project site (or othe possibly method) to verify your identity and proof that you or the contact person can represent the (sub-)project/team.)

All commits on https://github.com/asabya/betar are from my GitHub account (https://github.com/asabya). The project has a documentation site at the repo's GitHub Pages and smart contracts deployed on Base Sepolia testnet.

  • Resource you need:
(Please describe and list down "How many, which kind (VM, web hosting, git hosting, mirror service, etc), usage (will it be what kind of function/role) and spec.")
(Please describe both the Minimal and Desired spec.)
(For slave mirror service, please also give us the source url, mirror frequecy, and other neccessary info.)

Usage: Running a persistent Betar P2P node as a public bootstrap/relay node for the network. This node runs the libp2p host with Kademlia DHT, GossipSub, embedded IPFS-lite, and the marketplace CRDT service.

Minimal spec:

  • 1 VPS
  • 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB disk
  • Ubuntu (amd64 or arm64)
  • Open ports for P2P traffic (TCP/UDP)

Desired spec:

  • 1 VPS
  • 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB disk
  • Ubuntu (amd64 or arm64)
  • Open ports for P2P traffic (TCP/UDP)

Network usage is moderate — primarily libp2p DHT queries, GossipSub pubsub messages, and occasional IPFS block transfers.

  • Any additional info.

Betar is written in Go and compiles to a single binary, so deployment is straightforward. The project is currently being submitted to the PL Genesis hackathon.

  • Ability to promote OSSPlanet
As this is a free service for Open Source/Culture/Music without asking almost nothing in return,
We will be encouraged if you can list as on your project site, or mention us on your news/blog/article.
And if it's ok for you, please let us know!

Absolutely — happy to add OSSPlanet to our documentation site, README, and mention in any blog posts or presentations about Betar.
