PowerShell Gallery - Issue with Download Stats #242
Anam Navied (@anamnavi) if you could provide some level of updates here, that would be greatly appreciated. Stats are quite important to many of us as it gives us an idea of version update uptake, etc. Additionally, consumers of the gallery look at stats and see 0 and assume there is a bug or issue with the module update leading to confusion.
If this was fixed, surely the date that the latest stats were updated, would be more recent.......but then I guess it really depends on your perception of what recent means. For me, it usually means at least within the same year.
Please advise what you mean when you say the stats are now visible.....did you just mean they had totally disappeared and that is what you have fixed? Because it certainly has nothing to do with their accuracy.
Luke Leigh (@BanterBoy) our apologies, you're correct...we've resolved the first half of this issue where on a given package's page the download count for the version was reflecting 0, not the actual number. (Scenario #1 in the Expected Results section of this issue)
The second half of this issue, regarding Scenario #2 in the Expected Results section of this issue and what's listed in your comment, is not yet resolved. We'll have it resolved by next week.
Aditya Patwardhan (@adityapatwardhan) this still seems to be broken -- stats for packages I own have been frozen since some time in the list 2-3 weeks. I have packages uploaded a few days ago with zero downloads even though I know I've downloaded them. :)

This issue is closed, but I'm having the same behavior with my packages, is there anything I have to do? Noticed the statistics don't compute for a while.
The issue was resolved but it started again about 10 days ago, we are currently investigating a fix...stats are collecting they just aren't copying over correctly as far as we can tell

Thanks for the update Sydney Smith (@SydneyhSmith) . I noticed this problem with my package as well and came to report it. Just an FYI that it seems to be a problem for all packages, not just specific ones. You can see this if you look at the top 100 downloaded packages page.
same issue here, i just can't see the download statistics for my package. Sydney Smith (@SydneyhSmith) it could be great if you can take a look on this issue.
Package Downloads for microsoft.copilot.toolkit
Download statistics are not currently available for this package. Please retry or check back later.
any chance we can get some meaningful stats? They seem frozen in time. It's ok if not, but then I think it's better to just remove the stats from the page than to show info outdated by years.
Reacted by Andres Bohren, Matt Gucci and Gautam Sheth
I'm also noticing an issue where my latest module version does have downloads, but the overall package downloads counter is stuck at 0. The network traces show the report endpoint is returning ["No package with this ID exists."] although this package has been published for some months.

I am also experiencing this issue - I tried contacting support a couple days ago but haven’t heard anything back.
mikenelson-io commentedon Nov 11, 2022
Same issue with a module we posted on 11/7/22. [email protected] is not replying to emails either. Is anyone from MSFT looking at the issues?
anamnavi commentedon Nov 14, 2022
Prashant Bafna (@pbafna03) Sean McNellis (@seanmcne) Mike Nelson (@mikenelson-io) thanks for reaching out. We are looking into this and working to resolve it, but don't have a definitive timeframe for the solution at the moment.

I totally understand, I'll discuss with the team and provide a better estimate of when this work will be done by Thursday.
adityapatwardhan commentedon Nov 17, 2022
We have potentially found the issue and are working on the fix.
adityapatwardhan commentedon Nov 18, 2022
The package download statistics are now visible on PowerShell Gallery. Please let us know if you see otherwise.

Same thing seems to happen for
powershell-yamlas well. Don't really mind, but noticed it was happening then I stumbled over this bug 😄 .adamedx commentedon Mar 3, 2023
Ok, just in the last few hours the numbers went from 0 to 7 for one of mine, so maybe this is starting to fix itself...
gabriel-samfira commentedon Mar 3, 2023
Yup. Same here. Thanks!

Seems to happen on the powershell-yaml module as well. Last update seems to be from 2023 on the 6 week stats.
