rbindlist() crashing R session #5444

library(data.table)
# data.table 1.14.3 IN DEVELOPMENT built 2022-07-20 18:26:12 UTC

X = list(1, c(4.4, 3.5))
rbindlist(lapply(X, as.list), fill = TRUE, use.names = FALSE)

Crashes R (version 4.2.1) on Windows 10 both using Rstudio and a -vanilla session.

    Definitely not a crash instead an error I guess similar to

    rbindlist(list(1:3, 2:4))
    # Error in rbindlist(list(1:3, 2:4)) : 
    #   Item 1 of input is not a data.frame, data.table or list

    Only dev or 1.14.2 as well?

    @jangorecki I can do it. Iirc rbindlist was not able to do fill without using names before and Matt changed this because we needed it for a PR regarding merge where rbindlist is now used instead of constructing a new data.table and cbind it.

    Okay, it was indeed introduced 4922384 as suspected.
