FLAT / IVF_FLAT on the roadmap for TileDB-R? #894

Hi TileDB team,

First of all, thanks to the team for such a blazing-fast DB package. I use it as the storage layer for our main omics/multiomics R project, and it has held up well.

However, I have noted there is no ANN on the R layer. We currently do this in a custom approach, so I was wondering if is adding ANN search, FLAT, or IVF_FLAT to TileDB-R on the roadmap anywhere? I have seen it already form part of the core package and the Python version through TileDB-Vector-Search.

If the project is open to outside contributions here, I am happy to help. I already have an implementation as a separate package that could serve as reference. Happy to start with a rough plan and share it before writing any code, if that is useful.
