Tried to bootstrap from https://pkgsrc.smartos.org/install-on-macos/
That resolved the issue.

Yeh sorry about that, I posted this on Mastodon this morning (https://federate.me.uk/@jperkin/115547058112719901) and the pkgsrc-users list (https://mail-index.netbsd.org/pkgsrc-users/2025/11/14/msg042184.html). The workaround listed should work but yes you can also re-bootstrap.

Just make sure that you fully delete your /opt/pkg before unpacking the new bootstrap kit, and you may also want to run pkgin export before and pkgin import after to restore your working packages.
