I have a WP installation where "staff members" are setup as extended Users (quite a common practice I think?). I would like to make this queryable without auth - is that possible? Or would you recommend setting up a dedicated CPT for staff?
We did this on my latest project by creating a CPT of different user roles, and then filtered relevant user model properties for matching users onto an array in the CPT's response data; however, it may be preferable to define your own endpoint. You'll need to write a little more of the internal logic, but you'll have more control over what properties are exposed, and how they're formatted.
