fix(gemini): keep queued message out of the reply line and quote the approval question - #643
Conversation
…n the reply line A message queued during a turn is drawn under the reply with its edit hint, and the quote read it as part of the reply. Add a chrome_block for its heading, as codex has for its queued follow-up. Gemini's approval dialog replaces the composer, so the newest "> " row is the echo of the prompt that raised it and the dialog sits below the cutoff. The quote read the region above the echo and returned the previous answer. A new dialog_question rule reads the question from the tail instead. Fixes YoanWai#590

Thanks @drakeo338! I ran this against gemini 0.62.0. The queued message fix works, and the shell approval now shows its question. One thing before I merge. The question regex picks the wrong row in some dialogs, details inline.

Thanks for turning this around so fast! I replayed my real gemini 0.62.0 frames through the new head and every dialog quotes the right question now.

Merged, thank you! |
What changed
Gemini's reply line no longer shows a queued follow-up, and during an approval dialog it quotes the dialog's question instead of the prompt echo.
Why
Closes #590
The queued message under the reply was read as the last reply, and the newest
>row during a dialog is only the prompt echo. This addschrome_blockand a new optionaldialog_questionrule for Gemini.Scope
Required behavior
LastMessageskips the queued block and returns the approval question.Why this approach
Same
chrome_blockmechanism as the Codex fix (#618), plus one optional regex field.How it was verified
Both new tests fail on the merge base and pass here;

Not applicable because: it changes quoted reply text, covered by unit tests.
