You can do something like that now for example:

from adafruit_matrixportal.matrix import Matrix
matrix = Matrix(bit_depth=6)
matrix.display.root_group.hidden = True

Did I do that right ? Is there a better way to do it by reusing the existing one in Display.c instead ?
