v0.8.0 — Temporal surface intelligence #19

Closed

Description

@aleff-github

Goal

Turn Wayparam's capture history into explicit temporal intelligence: show how the archived parameterized surface changes over time without probing live targets.

Scope

1. Timeline view

Add a Wayback historical analysis mode that aggregates accepted capture evidence into deterministic time buckets.

Proposed CLI:

wayparam -d example.com --timeline --timeline-granularity year
wayparam -d example.com --timeline --timeline-granularity month --format jsonl --stdout --no-files

Each bucket should report:

  • accepted captures
  • unique normalized URLs observed in the bucket
  • normalized URLs first observed in the bucket
  • unique query-parameter names observed in the bucket
  • query-parameter names first observed in the bucket

2. Temporal change view

Build on the same primitives to compare two archive periods and report persisted, added and removed normalized URL shapes / parameters.

3. Output contract

Keep normal URL collection and existing 0.7 analysis output backward-compatible. New temporal structures must be opt-in, deterministic and machine-readable.

4. GUI/docs/tests

Expose temporal analysis in the local UI and document that all results describe archive-index evidence, not current live-target state.

Constraints

  • passive archive-index queries only
  • no live crawling/probing
  • no exploitability or vulnerability scoring
  • historical capture semantics remain Wayback-only until another provider exposes comparable capture metadata

v0.8.0
