after update zsh 5.8 autocomplete works

I cannot reproduce with gh 1.3.0 and zsh 5.7.1. What version of zsh do you have?

Can you try without loading oh-my-zsh, i.e. with a zshrc that contains only:

autoload -U compinit
compinit -i

You will have to first move _gh to somewhere in $fpath, since ~/.oh-my-zsh/completions will not be in fpath.

Ah now I see your update about zsh 5.0. It seems that we require a newer version of zsh than that. Thank you for checking!
