Homebrew installation command points to a non-existent tap repository

Description

The documented Homebrew installation command fails because it attempts to clone a repository that does not exist:

brew install compozy/tap/compozy

Homebrew tries to access:

https://github.com/compozy/homebrew-tap

However, GitHub returns Repository not found.

The installation works correctly when using:

brew install compozy/compozy/compozy

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open a terminal on macOS.
  2. Run:
brew install compozy/tap/compozy
  1. Observe the tap cloning error.

Actual behavior

The installation fails with the following output:

==> Tapping compozy/tap
Cloning into '/usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/compozy/homebrew-tap'...
remote: Repository not found.

fatal: repository 'https://github.com/compozy/homebrew-tap/' not found
Error: Failure while executing; `/usr/bin/env GIT_TERMINAL_PROMPT=0 git clone https://github.com/compozy/homebrew-tap /usr/local/Homebrew/Library/Taps/compozy/homebrew-tap --origin=origin --template= --config core.fsmonitor=false` exited with 128.

Expected behavior

The documented installation command should install Compozy successfully without attempting to clone a non-existent repository.

Working command

The following command works correctly:

brew install compozy/compozy/compozy

Suggested fix

Update the Homebrew installation instructions from:

brew install compozy/tap/compozy

to:

brew install compozy/compozy/compozy

Alternatively, create or restore the expected repository:

https://github.com/compozy/homebrew-tap

if compozy/tap/compozy is intended to remain the official installation command.

Environment

  • Operating system: macOS
  • Package manager: Homebrew
  • Installation prefix observed: /usr/local/Homebrew
