Summary

  • preserve the persisted worktree ID when boot reconciliation rebuilds an existing session projection
  • add regression coverage for identity-bound sessions so immutable participation does not mismatch at daemon startup
  • update extension rollback assertions to ignore the intentionally volatile internal lifecycle ownership token introduced on main
  • record the isolated runtime QA walk and teardown evidence

Verification

  • make gate-full
  • CGO_ENABLED=1 go test -race ./internal/daemon/... ./internal/extension/... ./internal/cli/... ./internal/worktree/... ./internal/observe/...
  • isolated daemon restart with a stopped worktree-bound session

Compozy Impact Audit

  • Native tools: no tool IDs, descriptors, schemas, digests, risk flags, or capability gates changed
  • Extensibility and hooks: no extension, hook, skill, capability, resource, registry, bridge SDK, MCP, or config lifecycle contract changed
  • Workspace data isolation: existing workspace-scoped session data now preserves its worktree binding during boot reconciliation; no new data scope was introduced
  • Official Compozy skill: no public behavior, CLI path, native tool ID, hook event, or capability changed

Fixes #455

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Preserved worktree associations when recovering sessions.
    • Prevented duplicate session indexing during reconciliation.
  • Tests
    • Added coverage confirming repeated reconciliation retains a single session and its worktree binding.

Walkthrough

Session recovery now restores the normalized worktree binding from metadata. Reconciliation passes recovered sessions by pointer. A regression test verifies repeated reconciliation without duplicate indexing or worktree binding loss.

Changes

Session reconciliation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Preserve worktree binding during reconciliation
internal/observe/reconcile.go, internal/observe/reconcile_test.go
Reconciliation passes each recovered session by pointer and rejects nil session pointers. Recovered metadata uses WorktreeIDValue(). The test verifies two reconciliation passes preserve one identity-bound session and its original worktree ID without indexing duplicates.

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 4534d

The change preserves worktree identity during startup reconciliation, but its regression coverage does not yet verify repeated reconciliation or the expected failure behavior. Merge should wait for those assertions or explicit owner acceptance of the bounded verification gap.

Explanation

The implementation preserves the worktree ID through meta.WorktreeIDValue(), supports identity-matched session refresh, and adds regression coverage that reconciles the stopped session twice while retaining one stable worktree binding. These changes satisfy issue #455.

Greptile Summary

The PR preserves a session's persisted worktree ID when boot reconciliation rebuilds the global session projection.

  • Copies the durable worktree binding into recovered SessionInfo.
  • Adds repeated-reconciliation coverage for an identity-bound stopped session.
  • Records the targeted runtime restart and teardown QA evidence.

Confidence Score: 5/5

The PR appears safe to merge.

No blocking failure remains.

@pedronauck Done — I rebased the branch onto the latest main, resolved the conflict, and updated the reconciliation test fixture for the new profile scope. The branch has been force-pushed at d46db56, and GitHub now reports the PR as mergeable. CI has been retriggered and is running against the updated head.
