🟢 Approval recommended
The scope change is consistently applied across operator tool/toolset handlers, reflected in the OpenAPI contract/bindings, and backed by targeted core+spec regression tests and QA tracking.
Pull request overview
Fixes operator tool and toolset catalog endpoints so they honor the client-selected profile (instead of always using the default profile), keeping Workspace isolation intact and documenting the new selector + profile error responses in the generated OpenAPI/TypeScript bindings.
Changes:
- Resolve operator tool scope via the profile selector across list/search/info/approval/invoke and toolset list/get paths.
- Update OpenAPI specs to include the
profilequery parameter on operator tool/toolset operations and to surface structured 400/404 profile errors. - Add focused API/spec regression tests plus a QA scenario entry for the new behavior.
File summaries
| File | Description |
|---|---|
| web/src/generated/compozy-openapi.d.ts | Regenerated TS types reflecting profile query selectors and profile-scoped 400/404 errors on tool/toolset endpoints. |
| internal/api/spec/spec_test.go | Extends spec tests to assert profile parameter + 400/404 presence on profile-scoped operator tool/toolset routes. |
| internal/api/spec/registry_toolsets.go | Documents profile selector on toolset endpoints and adds profile-related 400/404 responses in the spec. |
| internal/api/spec/registry_tools.go | Documents profile selector on tool endpoints and models profile vs tool error variants via shared response helpers. |
| internal/api/core/toolsets.go | Moves toolset handlers into their own file and resolves operator scope via selected profile before listing/getting toolsets. |
| internal/api/core/tools.go | Updates operator tool handlers to use profile-aware operator scope resolution (instead of default profile). |
| internal/api/core/tools_test.go | Adds regression coverage for profile-scoped operator tool/toolset projections and preserves workspace isolation/denials. |
| internal/api/core/tools_profile_scope.go | Introduces centralized operator tool scope resolution that rejects all_profiles and returns structured profile errors. |
| docs/qa/scenarios/ET-profile-scoped-operator-tool-catalog.md | Adds QA scenario tracking for profile-scoped operator tool catalog behavior. |

Reviewed the selected-profile tool projection and approval-token binding, all historical and current findings, generated contracts, and cross-surface impact. All six review threads are resolved; CodeRabbit approved and Greptile reports no outstanding findings. Current-head CI 34372101987 passed all code, race, frontend, and runtime/web/desktop E2E lanes. Local make gate is CURRENT-PASS; real isolated CLI/HTTP QA passed with clean teardown. Final main remains eacd0cb and is an ancestor of this head. Optional Vercel preview is unavailable due to fork deployment authorization; no CI or protection bypass is used.
What and why
Operator tool and toolset endpoints used the default profile even when the client selected another profile. List, search, info, approval, invoke, and toolset reads now pass the selected profile to the registry while preserving workspace scope. Approval tokens bind the minting profile, and all seven routes document reachable profile-conflict responses.
The change includes regenerated OpenAPI/TypeScript contracts, operator documentation, the official Compozy skill reference, and the existing profile/workspace QA scenario. Implementation and delivery were agent-assisted.
Validation
make gate: all affected lanes passed, including API/tools/skills race tests and Web typecheck/test/build (7105 Web tests).bunx turbo run typecheck test build --filter=./packages/site: passed; 329 site tests.docs/qa/reports/2026-09-09-pr-551-profile-tool-isolation.md.Compozy Impact Audit
Native tools: no IDs, input schemas, risks, or capability gates changed; operator projection and approval matching now honor profile identity.
Extensibility and hooks: existing extension registry receives the selected scope; SDK tool placement was exercised. Hook, bridge, MCP, and config keys/defaults are unchanged.
Workspace data isolation: shared CLI/HTTP/UDS handlers retain workspace/session/agent selectors. Public owner/peer/default reads and denials passed; approval store and handler suites prove cross-profile/workspace rejection and single use. No new cache, SSE, or persisted schema.
Official Compozy skill:
skills/compozy/references/tools-and-skills.mddocuments operator profile selection and approval binding.Web/docs: generated TypeScript updated; no direct Web tool-catalog consumer changed. Tool Registry docs now explain profile and workspace selection.
