foundationdb: the app accepts any version string, including versions the operator cannot run #4511
The FoundationDB app takes any string as the cluster version. packages/apps/foundationdb/values.yaml declares ## @field {string} version - Version of FoundationDB to use. with default 7.3.63 and no enum or pattern, so 6.x, 7.1 or 7.2 are accepted at create time even though the operator cannot run them. The user finds out later from a cluster that never becomes ready, not from an admission error.
It gets sharper with the arm64 work: the operator's 7.1 init container is being dropped because its monitor image exists only for amd64, so 7.1 stops working on every architecture while the schema still offers it.
A @pattern (or an enum of the minor lines the operator ships init containers for, 7.3 and 7.4 today) on that field would turn this into a clear rejection. Low severity: it is a misconfiguration, no data is at risk.
