test(e2e): the OVS-lookup deadline test in capture-dataplane.bats fails on a slow machine #4745

Open

Description

One test in hack/capture-dataplane.bats fails when the machine is slow, because it assumes a call starts inside a 3s window.

The test "an OVS interface lookup the deadline cut names the budget on both paths" gives the pod section 3s (COZY_DATAPLANE_BUDGET=6 COZY_DATAPLANE_LB_RESERVE=3) and greps for the "cut off at the deadline" line. That line only appears if the OVS interface lookup starts before the 3s run out. When the section's earlier calls take longer, dp_run refuses the lookup and writes the "not started" line instead. The collector is right to do that, and the grep at line 2441 (at 2ddd55c) fails.

The review of #4640 hit this on every run on a slower machine, and the same run with a 12s budget printed the expected line (comment). Here it passes unloaded and under full CPU load, and fails at the same grep once the run is starved (background QoS plus full CPU load).

Two ways to fix it: give the pod section enough budget that the lookup always starts, or accept either line, since both name the budget. #3685 was the same class of test.
