[dashboard] Handle serviceAccounts #6

Closed as not planned
Closed as not planned

Description

@kvaps

User can choose serviceaccount for installing application
Currently they have a coice of none or tenant-account

If they select the client account, the installation will fail because it does not have sufficient privileges.

We need to consider hiding the choice and assign default account for every user.

    Discussed it today. It makes sense, but there is not much demand at this moment, and it is rather challenging to implement. So it goes to a long-term backlog until someone volunteers to do it or our priorities change.

    Hi, Andrei Kvapil (@kvaps). I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the cozystack team manage their backlog and am marking this issue as stale.

    Issue Summary:

    • You suggested improving the dashboard by hiding the service account selection during app installation to prevent errors from insufficient privileges.
    • Maintainer NickVolynkin acknowledged the idea but noted low demand and implementation challenges.
    • The issue was deferred to the long-term backlog, awaiting volunteer interest or priority changes.
    • Additional context was provided by you in response to a request from another user.

    Next Steps:

    • Please let me know if this issue is still relevant to the latest version of cozystack by commenting here to keep the discussion open.
    • Otherwise, this issue will be automatically closed in 7 days.

    Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
