URL/SHA1. [Yes]
Hunter currently cannot handle dependencies that need git submodules to build. The problem is that
- Ordinary GitHub .tar.gz archives will not contain the submodule contents.
hunter_config(... GIT_SUBMODULE ...) will not package the submodule content and thus compilation will fail (missing files).
Example Repository: https://github.com/image357/cmake_tutorial
If you try to include this repository in any other repository via Hunter, it will fail. The reason is that both submodules (lib/HunterGate and tests/lib/googletest) will not be present at compile time.
This is unfortunate, since a dependency, which itself used hunter_config(... GIT_SUBMODULE ...) will not be compatible with Hunter (i.e. git submodule resursive hunter dependencies are not possible).
