After several tests the version 1.17.0-rc-1 works with Spring Boot 4.x.
The main difference we have found so far is the lack of support for the Rest Assured library which is now replaced by the
RestTestClient.
The following project shows the dependencies and how to set up the Testcontainers configuration to run Dapr for local development and integration tests that requires the sidecar and control plane components running (placement, scheduler).https://github.com/diagrid-labs/dapr-workflow-spring-boot-4-onboarding
If you are using the Dapr Java SDK with Spring Boot 4.x please follow this project configuration.
Reacted by Alice GibbonsTo make sure that we don't break any compatibility with Spring Boot 3.x, we still need to configure our pipelines to run with both versions and find an approach to test with Rest Assured and with RestTestClient. This is still work in progress, but it doesn't affect the usage of the SDK

Describe the proposal
We need to research how to support Spring Boot 3.x users as well as Spring Boot 4.x users.
This requires some research and looking at tools like Arconia that provides migration recipies to move apps from Spring Boot 3 to Spring Boot 4.x
@ThomasVitale any suggestions ? do you know how other projects are doing this?
