#27 adds the basic functionality to populate the dialog. Then I manually do the following:

task copyAboutMapping(type: Copy) {
  shouldRunAfter ideSetupWorkspace
  from(new File(com.diffplug.gradle.GoomphCacheLocations.bundlePool(), 'plugins')) {
    include 'org.eclipse.epp.package.java_*/about.mappings'
  }
  into new File(new File(eclipseDir, com.diffplug.gradle.FileMisc.macContentsEclipse()), "dropins/com.diffplug.goomph.branding")
  eachFile {FileCopyDetails fcp ->
    String[] segments = [fcp.name]
    fcp.path = fcp.name
    fcp.relativePath = new RelativePath(true, segments)
  }
}
ide.dependsOn copyAboutMapping

This allows me to have the actual version of the eclipse distro I'm running using the simplistic variable substitution built into the about dialog.

Extension snippet:

oomphIde.description 'Eclipse Platform
Version: {1}
Build id: {0}&#x0A'

about.mappings:

# about.mappings
# contains fill-ins for about.properties
# java.io.Properties file (ISO 8859-1 with "\" escapes)
# This file does not need to be translated.

0=20161007-1200
1=Neon.1a Release (4.6.1)
featureVersion=@featureVersion@

The {0} and {1} are populated from the about.mapping, which is what I have to manually copy.

Is there a way to populate the "about" dialog? #21
