Checklist
Flatpak version
1.14.10
What Linux distribution are you using?
Debian
Linux distribution version
12
What architecture are you using?
x86_64
How to reproduce
-
On Debian 12, install and update the affected Flatpak application from runtimes 23.08 to 26.08
-
Launch Steam from Flatpak
-
Open Steam → Help → System Information and check the Video Card section. It reports Mesa llvmpipe instead of the AMD GPU. Repeat with PrismLauncher. It also uses software rendering.
-
Prism launcher and Steam use llvmpipe rather than my AMD Radeon R9 380, making games unusable or extremely slow. Heroic launcher works fine however.
-
Debian 12; kernel 6.1.0-44-amd64; Flatpak Steam uses `org.freedesktop.Platform/x86_64/26.08
-
AMD Radeon R9 380 / Tonga; host glxinfo says Accelerated: yes and renders with the Radeon.
-
Steam and PrismLauncher Flatpaks report llvmpipe and began after updating Flatpaks.
-
amdgpu is loaded; /dev/dri/renderD128 is readable and writable and Flatpak contains radeonsi_dri.so.
Expected Behavior
- Lauch game.
- Have DXVK overlay show amdgpu as selected.
Actual Behavior
- Flatpak applications use llvmpipe, making games unplayable.
Additional Information
I'm at quite a loss as to what the issue could be, I tried forcing Steam to use my amdgpu but that doesn't fix it either.
