It should:

  • help position CupertinoTabBar and CupertinoNavigationBar to the right places
  • let content be between them or behind them depending on their opacity
  • automatically create pageviews and navigators per each tab if there is a CupertinoTabBar
  • handle back gestures per navigator
  • coordinate animations between the page transition in CupertinoPageTransition and a parallax-fade transition on the app bar (moved to Create an app bar parallax transition effect for iOS #9446)
  • have an API to preserve or discard offscreen inactive tabs

    As discussed offline, split the current scaffold into

    1. CupertinoPage that has the nav bar and a body. This has the shortest lifecycle.
    2. A CupertinoTab that wraps a Navigator. This typically has multiple CupertinoPages (wrapped with CupertinoPageRoutes).
    3. A CupertinoScaffold that has a tab bar and a body. This has multiple CupertinoTabs and has the longest lifecycle.

    Umm actually a bit confusing since UIPageViewController is something different.

    Going for

    1. CupertinoPageScaffold.
    2. CupertinoTab.
    3. CupertinoTabScaffold.
