Build in profile mode when built by running Xcode's profiler  #15249

Closed

Description

@cbracken

In Xcode builds we build in whichever mode (debug, profile, release) was built last, with debug by default. This results in unintuitive behaviour when running via "Profile" rather than "Run" in Xcode. We've seen a few cases (#12542 and #13242 come to mind) where users have benchmarked memory/CPU/GPU in debug mode.
