24 hour time format resets to default after full restart #17154
The 24 hour time format resets itself to default after a full restart.
My emulator is set to 24h format and ui.window.alwaysUse24HourFormat says TRUE the first time the app starts after assemble. I can switch to another app and come back or do a hot reload and it stays TRUE. However, when doing a full restart alwaysUse24HourFormat will give FALSE.
Highlights are below.
Looks like the dart code which updates the ui.window by hooks.dart is not being called after hot-reload or full-restart. Looking into the details from the FlutterView side the "user settings" (text scale and 24hr format) only get updated on the kSettingsChannel on creation of the Activity and onConfigurationChanged. Which does not account for hot-reload and/or full-restart.
So this is an issue more about persisting the current settings across the Isolate reload. Looking into it further it seem's RuntimeController::FlushRuntimeStateToIsolate does not call SetUserSettingsData which is the only part I can see where it might be the cause of the bug.
I see there's an open issue addressing the case you described. #13703
