windows 10 multi window bug when using examples\multiple_windows #186522
I ran flutter config --enable-windowing
enable-windowing: true (It says "Unavailable", will this affect anything?)
Then I ran examples\multiple_windows
System Version: Windows 10 Pro, 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6466)
Note: I also tested this on Windows 11 and it works well (no issues opening/closing windows). The problem happens on Windows 10, where opening, closing, activating, and maximizing all have severe issues. Almost none of the functionality works.
Expected results
Multiple windows open, close, activate, and maximize normally.
Actual results
There are severe issues with opening, closing, activating, and maximizing. I'll upload a screen recording shortly.
@110jiangnan Thanks for reporting this.
We request that all issues be submitted in English so that entire team can properly investigate.
Could you please update the issue report?

Steps to reproduce
I ran flutter config --enable-windowing
enable-windowing: true (Unavailable? Will this affect the run?)
Then I ran examples\multiple_windows
System Version: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 22H2
Installation Date: 2023/3/29
OS Build: 19045.6466
The bug is very strange.
Here is a screen recording of the computer in the first comment.
Additionally, I tested this case on Windows 11 and it was fine; there were no issues with opening or closing windows.
It's just when testing on Windows 10, opening, closing, activating, and maximizing all have serious problems; almost no feature is usable.
Expected results
Multiple windows opening, closing, activating, and maximizing normally.
Actual results
Opening, closing, activating, and maximizing all have serious problems. I will upload the screen recording.
The bug is very strange. The Flutter windows were not captured by screen recording software, so I recorded the screen using a mobile phone.

@110jiangnan
I tested the examples\multiple_windows sample on Windows 11 Pro, and actions (opening, closing, minimizing, and maximizing via the "Regular" button) are working, but I did notice a error appearing in console. Win 11 pro logs:

I suggest the official team run the relevant test cases in a Windows 10 environment. If possible, please cover different release versions of Windows 10 for verification.
Currently, the multi-window feature has severe stability issues on Windows 10, far beyond the single scenario mentioned above. Our actual testing found that operations involving opening, closing, and managing multiple windows have a very high probability of causing the application to crash or the interface to fail to display. This severely impacts production usability, and I kindly request that this be prioritized for investigation.
@puneetkukreja98
Our team is experiencing the same issue, which significantly hurts multi-window usability on Windows 10. Could you share the ongoing tracking for this issue?

@110jiangnan If you have a moment, can you try out #187848 ? That should fix windows failing to open on Win10 😄
