Standard behavior (at least on iOS) is to move the cursor when tapping, holding down your finger and dragging it. This makes it possible to fine-tune the position of the cursor in the text field. When doing this in Flutter, instead the text field starts to select the text.

    @zoechi It's not a duplicate. That issue covers moving the cursor by force pressing on the keyboard, this is about tapping and dragging the cursor within the text.

    At present, it's very hard to select an exact insert point for the text input. Flutter overall is great, but the text fields really need to be fixed, they do not at all feel native and are very cumbersome/buggy to use. This is still holding back a bunch of features in my Newsvoice app.
