_tabController.dispose();
during _updateTabController ?
When I comment this line it looks fine for me.@hawkbee1 You have to dispose the previous tab controller before making use of the new tab controllerto avoid leaks. In our case, dispose is not working as intended since it's supposed to completely remove the old controller from being referenced or used by

Testing your code on latestdevchannel, i wasn't able to produce any exception between mid swiping animation and tapping add or subtract tab

When trying to dynamically update the number of tabs with a new TabController, an exception is thrown because the animation library attempts to reach an AnimationController that is no longer available.
