Unable to publish app to Apple app store -  #76958

Closed

Description

@MichalTorma

Hi there,
There seems to be an issue with the newest master 1.27.0-9.0.pre.128 when trying to publish the app to the Apple app store. It fails to verify the app with following error:
Error: code 1091 (App Store operation failed. Invalid Swift Support. The file Runner.app/Frameworks/.last_build_id doesn’t have the correct file type for this location. Ensure you’re using the correct file, rebuild your app using the current public (GM) version of Xcode, and resubmit it.)

It works no problem on 1.27.0-8.0.pre.128. I've tested it on my local machine as well as using CodeMagic.

    I think this should be environment.buildDir.childFile('.last_build_id');?

    No, it's leaving a marker in the outputDir that references the buildDir build ID.

    @MichalTorma thank you so much for catching this! Can you confirm it is now fixed in master as of #77007? You should flutter clean in your project first.

  11. TheJulianJES commented on Mar 3, 2021

    @TheJulianJES

    I'm getting this issue with the stable release of Flutter 2.0.0.
    Can anyone else confirm this is the case?

    Edit: Sorry, my build machine was still running on the Flutter dev channel (and thus a newer version with the commit that introduced the issue, but not with the one that fixed it).

    Hi @TheJulianJES, the commit that introduced this (#76665) is not in 2.0. Therefore, you're likely seeing a different problem. Could you please file a new github issue with full details? Thanks!

    Is there any way for those poor saps who have just done a "flutter upgrade" (like me) to work around this? If no, how do we downgrade to the latest version without this problem?

    flutter channel stable
    flutter upgrade
    should bring you back to the stable channel where the issue is not present (there might be some dependency conflicts though).

    @josh2112 If you don't want to jump channels you can run git checkout 9df362a73f from your Flutter SDK. That will put you one commit before the regression at #76665.

    Thanks Jenn! I was on dev only for Windows support anyway, so I gave stable a shot and it seems to be working fine.

    Is there any way to use this fix on the dev branch? My project depends on other fixes that are currently in dev but not on stable, but I need to send a build to the app store now and this is preventing me to do so.. Thank you!

    @jlubeck The dev branch is never hotfixed, but there should be a new dev release out pretty soon.

    @jlubeck 2.1.0-12.1.pre was just published to dev. You should be able to flutter upgrade on that channel past the fix.
