clouds.Parse does not read clouds-public.yaml #3948

Closed

Description

@AntoninRuan

What happened?

Openstack configuration defines a clouds-public.yaml (https://docs.openstack.org/python-openstackclient/2026.1/configuration/index.html#clouds-public-yaml) file containing public informations that can be shared across clouds and users.

clouds.Parse does not take this file into account leading to erronous authOptions when using the file.

For example with the config given in the aftermentionned docs and the following program

package main

import (
	"fmt"

	"github.com/gophercloud/gophercloud/v2/openstack/config/clouds"
)

func main() {
	authOptions, _, _, err := clouds.Parse()
	if err != nil {
		panic(err)
	}

	fmt.Printf("%+v\n", authOptions)
}

We have

$ OS_CLOUD=infra go run .
{IdentityEndpoint: Username:openstack UserID: Password:xyzpdq!lazydog Passcode: DomainID: DomainName: TenantID:275610 TenantName: AllowReauth:false TokenID: Scope:<nil> ApplicationCredentialID: ApplicationCredentialName: ApplicationCredentialSecret:}

IdentifyEndpointis not set while it should be https://identity.api.rackspacecloud.com/v2.0/ as shown by

$ os configuration show | grep auth.auth_url
| auth.auth_url                               | https://identity.api.rackspacecloud.com/v2.0/ |
