[SP9] FN button stops mouse input in other windows #1719
Kernel: 6.13.6-arch1-1-surface
DE: Plasma 6
WM: kwin
Wayland
I have been experiencing a strange issue today on my Surface Pro 9.
I updated all packages this morning, I attached a log showing version changes: updated_pkgs.txt
I am using the surface pro 9 type cover keyboard.
The FN key, when toggled ON, locks all mouse input to the active window.
For example: I am currently in Firefox. My FN button's LED is turned off. I can tab to Dolphin or Konsole and back, able to click in everything perfectly.
If I toggle my FN button so the LED is on. I can still click and use Firefox, but I am unable to click in any other window, including the desktop and taskbar panel. Firefox is the ONLY program that recognizes my mouse input.
When I disable the FN button, things return to normal. I can click the taskbar, switch windows, etc.
This is the same for any other program/window when I turn on the FN button. It will only recognize input for the window that I am active in.
Even if I just hover my cursor over the taskbar panel, then turn on FN - it will lock all mouse input to the taskbar. I won't be able to interact with any window or desktop element other than the taskbar, until I disable FN.
Also, for some reason when I am in this strange FN mouse lock mode, I am unable to do CTRL+Backspace to delete a whole word. Everything just sorta acts funky.
This only occurs on Wayland, X11 works fine.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? If there are any logs I can share, please let me know. I am not super knowledgeable in what might help here.

I have the same issue, I think. When doing screenshots with spectacle (I have the default settings of using tge Print(?)-key), my mouse becomes locked to the current window, can't click on anything else. For me, detaching and re-attaching the typecover fixes this.
I'm also on a Surface Pro 9 running KDE Plasma

Yes! the Spectacle thing is what had me banging my head against a wall for 8 hours today.
Re-attaching the cover does fix it, but overkill. Turning the FN key off fixes it for me. It's just annoying, because I like having it on by default.
I'm now having another issue with the FN button. Normally if you hold FN and press the arrow keys, you can trigger home/end, and also skip to the end and beginning of a line. This no longer works.
