im v0.8.2

@github-actions github-actions released this 14 Sep 06:01

Installing

Download the binary for your platform, make it executable, and put it
on your PATH.

Requirements

These binaries embed an SBCL core but do not bundle IM. They load
libim and its add-ons at startup, so IM 3.15 must be present.

On Linux and macOS, build
lispnik/tecgraf-im, or install
IM through your package manager if it offers 3.15.

Windows needs nothing installed. im-windows-x64.zip contains
IM and its dependencies beside the executable; unzip it and run
im.exe. It is bundled because there is no package a user could
install instead: IM's Windows DLLs are linked against vcpkg's builds
of libtiff, libjpeg and zlib, and the ones chocolatey or MSYS2
provide do not satisfy them.

Point the binary at a build with IM_LIBRARY_PATH, or put the
libraries in a lib/ directory beside the executable. Run
im library to see which were found and where.

Optional add-ons — JPEG 2000, HEIF/AVIF and video capture — are off in
IM's default build. Without them those formats simply do not appear in
im formats.

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Aug 05:56

The Windows binary has been withdrawn from this release.
It could not run: it loads im.dll at startup, and there is no im.dll a
Windows user can obtain separately — IM's DLLs are linked against vcpkg's
libtiff, libjpeg and zlib, which is not what chocolatey or MSYS2 provide.
Use v0.4.1, whose
im-windows-x64.zip bundles IM and needs nothing installed.

On Windows you must build lispnik/tecgraf-im yourself, against
vcpkg. There is no package to install: IM's Windows DLLs are linked
against vcpkg's builds of libtiff, libjpeg and zlib, and the ones
chocolatey or MSYS2 provide do not match, so im.dll will not load
beside them.

Point the binary at a build with IM_LIBRARY_PATH, or put the
libraries in a lib/ directory beside the executable. Run
im library to see which were found and where.

Optional add-ons — JPEG 2000, HEIF/AVIF and video capture — are off in
IM's default build. Without them those formats simply do not appear in
im formats.
