Nextcloud has synced/downloaded all files from Nextcloud even though only 3 directories were in two-way-sync list #14738

Description

⚠️ Before posting ⚠️

  • This is a bug, not a question or an enhancement.
  • I've searched for similar issues and didn't find a duplicate.
  • I've written a clear and descriptive title for this issue, not just "Bug" or "Crash".
  • I agree to follow Nextcloud's Code of Conduct.

Steps to reproduce

I just discovered I had few space Ln the device, but I don't look at that often so if can be done time.

After investigation I saw nextcloud has synced directories I never would have told it to sync like an .img file.

I checked and I only have three directories in the "two way sync" which I have enabled some time before because I thought #13872 must be fixed now.

And indeed I see no data usage grow though, but well nextcloud going berserk anyway.

Expected behaviour

Not sync directories I never wanted to sync.

Actual behaviour

It synced as far as I see all of them.

Disabled the sync for now and deleted some files. From the file system though because after I started deleting one big dir and it was not finished, I swiped/exited the app. Now I have no delete menu anymore?

Ah after deleting it from the file system "delete" menu is back.

Addendum: it seems not all subdirectories have been downloaded, but the top level ones have been.

    Hello

    Thank you for the report.

    1. Have .img files in the system directory.
    2. Enable two-way sync for multiple folders that do not contain .img files.
    3. Check data usage and sync activity. Only the selected folders should be synced, not the .img files.

I assume .img file is --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMG_(file_format) or image file?

As far as I understand, these would be the reproduction steps. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes and yes the image file is like kinda 1GB.

I am not sure whether it is related to the img file though. Also it coulf also still be some db issue from old versions as I IIRC also was affected by the old linked issue.
