Guidelines on this matter are urgently needed. Right now, everyone does it however they want, and sometimes the results aren't good.
The purpose of this issue is to ensure that work on this topic takes place here, a decision is made, and that decision is then communicated.
Suggestions include:
- Translate app names such as “Files, Contacts, Calendar, Mail,” but not anything else.
- Do not translate app names at all.
- Do not translate app names that are proper nouns, such as “Deck” or “Talk.” But how do we define which app names are proper nouns?
