About Native Git

Use the Postman desktop app to access the Git-connected experience.

With Postman’s file system support, Native Git lets you develop APIs in a local Git repository and sync them to Postman Cloud only when the work is ready to share.

When a coding agent makes API changes, work in the local Git repository and use Git to review and commit them. Sync changes to Postman Cloud when they’re ready to share.

In Local View, your collections, environments, specs, and project files live alongside your code. In Cloud View, they’re the shared version teams can review and rely on. Use Local View to edit files alongside code, then push those changes to Cloud View. Changes made in Cloud View can be pulled back into Local View.

Use Native Git end to end: organize your project, develop locally, sync local and cloud elements, and automate pushes to Postman Cloud when changes reach your team’s integration branch.
