While the internal reference counter is atomic, the control block holding the pointer itself is not. If one thread updates the pointer while another reads it, you are on a collision course with a Data Race and memory corruption. C++20 addresses this with the introduction of std::atomic<std::shared_ptr>. 🔹 The Control Block Race: In a standard shared_ptr, the load (read) and store (write) operations on the pointer itself are not indivisible. A reader thread can capture a "torn" or partially updated pointer state, leading to an immediate Segmentation Fault. 🔹 The Atomic Solution: By wrapping the Smart Pointer in std::atomic, the language guarantees that every swap or access happens as a single, atomic unit. This allows for seamless Hot Reloading of configuration or data at runtime without ever stopping or locking the processing threads. #CPP #Multithreading #LowLatency #SoftwareEngineering #PerformanceOptimization #ModernCpp #SystemsProgramming #LockFree #HFT #ProgrammingTips

Programming Languages: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Technology: NodeJS, MongoDB, PhoneGap
With a team of 2 high school students, college business student and a professor, put together a project to gameify education. Implemented a award system for students in schools to earn points and trophies for performing well in school. Used mobile technology combined with web (PhoneGap) to build a front end and NodeJS/Mongo to build the backend. -
First place: Future of Computing Competition
Temple University
Programming Languages: Java
Technology: JMonkey, Kinect
Participated in a competition with students from other colleges and high schools to put our projects to the test. My group of 3 put together our work from class; our weekly game projects. The submission was cleverly name 'games made in a week'. We took first place prize with 3 sample games we made all of which integrated Microsoft Kinect.
