NodeTool Cloud is in alpha. Try it →

NodeTool Cloud · Alpha preview

The NodeTool workspace. In your browser.

Try NodeTool without installing anything. Cloud runs the same AI agent and editors in your web browser and stores your projects online. Connect your own AI provider accounts to generate media. Cloud is in alpha, an early test version, so use it to try NodeTool rather than for important work.

Alpha preview · Internet connection required · Online AI providers only

For paid production work, use Studio.

NodeTool storyboard editor with generated shots and the agent tool record
The storyboard editor. Every generated shot in it stays editable.

Editable by design

See what stays editable.

The agent changes the same storyboard, workflow, and timeline that you can open yourself. The recording below shows a project built this way. During the alpha, some models and actions may not be available in Cloud yet.

Recorded NodeTool project demonstration: the agent builds a storyboard and cut that remain open for revision.

Hosted boundaries

Know what runs where.

Cloud saves you the install. It cannot run AI models on your own computer, and AI providers bill you separately for what you generate.

Workspace
The hosted alpha opens in a browser and keeps the agent, canvas, and editors together. No desktop installation is required.
Project storage
Cloud uses hosted storage. Check the current alpha terms before using sensitive or regulated material.
AI providers
Remote image, video, audio, and language models run through the provider accounts you connect. Provider charges remain separate from NodeTool.
Local models
Cloud cannot use models running through Ollama, MLX, llama.cpp, or other runtimes on your computer. Use Studio for local inference.
Connection
Cloud needs an internet connection. Studio can keep local work available without one when every step uses local files and supported local models.

What does "bring your own keys" mean for me?

It means you connect your own provider accounts and pay each provider directly at its published price. NodeTool does not add a credit system or a provider-price markup. The provider still receives the requests you send to its models. You will sometimes see this written as BYOK.

Studio or Cloud — which should I use?

Use Studio for real projects. It is the desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It works with online AI providers without a graphics card, and it can run supported AI models on your own computer if the hardware is strong enough. Cloud runs in your web browser and is in alpha, an early test version, so use it to try NodeTool. Moving projects between Cloud and Studio may not cover everything during the alpha, so check that the move you need works before you rely on it.

Is NodeTool local-first and private?

NodeTool Studio stores the workspace, workflows, files, and configured credentials on your machine. Supported open-weight models can run locally through MLX, Ollama, llama.cpp, vLLM, and LM Studio. When you call a hosted model, the request leaves your machine for that provider. Cloud uses hosted project storage; review the current privacy policy and terms before using sensitive material.

What should I expect from the Cloud alpha?

Cloud is for evaluation and lightweight access while the hosted edition is in alpha. Enabled models, storage behavior, import and export coverage, and availability can change. Check the Cloud page, the in-product notices, and the current terms before depending on a particular capability. Use Studio for paid production work.

Where does Cloud store my projects?

Cloud uses hosted project storage. The current privacy policy and terms are the source for retention and access rules. If material must remain on your device, use Studio and avoid remote providers for the affected steps.
