First Backlinks FAQ

What does this tool do?

This tool isn't just a list. It allows you to sort directories by DR, name, link type, platform type. It also allows you to track the statuses of all your submissions. You can even install this whole page into your Mac Dock or PC Taskbar for easy access!

What kind of products can I submit to these websites?

Anything digital: apps, SaaS, PWAs, and websites. Some directories will accept any URL you submit, while others gatekeep for specific niches. Usually whatever AI wrapper or dev tool trend is currently popular.

Will I get traffic from directory websites?

No. This isn't 2014 anymore. These directories aren't driving meaningful traffic, and they certainly aren't delivering paying customers. Treat them strictly as a means to an end. Extract the early backlinks you need to get your site indexed and crawled. Then forget about it and focus on building actual distribution strategies.

What is the point of backlinks?

To prove to search engines that your product actually exists. Early backlinks are a brute-force way to signal legitimacy to Google, bump up your initial Domain Rating (DR), and ensure your site doesn't spend months completely buried in the search results.

Should I pay for my first backlinks?

No! As a rule of thumb, never pay for backlinks. All the tools featured on this page allow you to list your app for free.

What's the difference between Dofollow and Nofollow?

A "Dofollow" link is a site putting its reputation on the line to pass you actual SEO credit. A "Nofollow" link is them saying, "Here's the link, but we refuse to actually vouch for it." If your primary goal is ranking power, Nofollow links don't hurt but they aren't particular helpful either.

Where is my data stored?

Right in your own browser via IndexedDB. We don't want your data, and we aren't paying server costs to store it. Everything is completely private and stays on your device (unless you clear your cache and wipe your own progress).
