Frequently asked questions

What is RadiusOnMap?

RadiusOnMap lets you draw one or more radius circles around any address. You can adjust the size (100 m to 50 km), pick a colour, label each circle, drag pins around the map, and export everything as GeoJSON.

Is RadiusOnMap free to use?

Yes, completely free. No sign-up, no API key, no usage limits. The tool uses 100% open-source data from OpenStreetMap.

Can I export the radius polygon?

Yes. Click the "GeoJSON" button in the tool panel to download the polygon as a standard GeoJSON file. This can be imported into QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Maps, Mapbox, or any other GIS platform.

Can I share a specific radius with someone?

Yes. Click "Share Link" in the panel - it copies a URL to your clipboard that encodes the current location and radius circles. Anyone opening the link will see the same radius.

Can I add multiple circles?

Yes. Click "+ Add" in the panel to add another circle. Each circle can have its own size, colour, and label. All circles are included in the GeoJSON export and encoded in the share link.

Does it work for any location in the world?

Yes. Type any address, city, or coordinates into the search box. Coverage depends on OpenStreetMap data quality, which is excellent in most urban areas worldwide.
