Give every document a name that finds itself.
Renomino reads your files and stamps a clean, consistent, sortable name on each one. The AI runs entirely on your Mac — your documents never leave the machine.

Read on-device · renamed in place · fully reversible
“scan_001.pdf”, 4,000 times.
Downloads, scans, exports and screenshots pile up with names that tell you nothing. Finding last year’s invoice means opening twenty files. Renaming them by hand is the chore nobody finishes — so the folder stays a junk drawer.
- 01
Unsearchable
A name like “IMG_4821” hides the invoice, the date and the sender. Search can’t help you.
- 02
Unsortable
Without a leading date, your files never line up chronologically. Every folder is shuffled.
- 03
Unfinished
Renaming hundreds of documents by hand is tedious, so it never gets done — the backlog only grows.
Point it at a folder. Read the suggestions. Done.
Four steps. The only thing that happens on a network is — nothing.
- 01
Point it at a folder
Browse, drag-and-drop, or paste a path. Renomino lists every document it finds, recursively, with full paths preserved — capped sensibly so a 60,000-file tree won’t flood the screen.
- 02
It reads each file — on your machine
Text is extracted from documents; scans and photos are read by a local vision model (OCR), including iPhone HEIC. A local LLM then proposes one clean name in the format you choose.
- 03
You stay in control
Review each suggestion — edit, accept or skip, with keyboard shortcuts — or let high-confidence names apply automatically. Dry-run previews everything before a single file is touched.
- 04
It renames in place
Files are renamed where they live, folders preserved — optionally filed into Sender/Year. Every change is logged and reversible: one-click undo, any time.
Built for real, messy archives.
Everything you need to take a folder from chaos to a clean, sortable record — and nothing that phones home.
Reads scans & photos
A local vision model performs OCR on scanned PDFs and image files — receipts, statements, business cards, even iPhone HEIC photos — and names them from what they actually say.
Keeps your language
A Facture stays a Facture, a Fatura stays a Fatura. Renomino preserves French, Portuguese and English — and folds accents so the filename stays portable across every tool.
Your spellings, enforced
Teach it the names that matter — Openbank, DosSantos — and an entity glossary makes the AI spell them exactly right, every single time.
Your naming, your rules
Set the order and separators you file by. {DATE}, {ENTITY}, {CONTEXT} — Renomino follows your template, with a live specimen so you see the result as you type.
Nothing is irreversible
Dry-run previews every change. Per-row undo restores the original name instantly. A local audit log keeps a recoverable record of every rename.
File as you rename
Optionally sort each renamed document into a clean Sender / Year structure — turning a flat dumping ground into a real archive in one pass.
See the time you save
A local ledger tracks what you’ve filed and how long it would have taken by hand — today, this week, this month — so the backlog finally feels like progress.
Built for batches
Queue multiple folders to run back-to-back, fly through review from the keyboard, stop and resume any time. Big archives, handled.
Your documents never leave your machine. Ever.
Most “AI” tools upload your files to someone else’s servers. Renomino is built on the opposite principle: the intelligence comes to your data, not the other way around.
No cloud
The AI runs on your own hardware via a local model. The only network call Renomino makes is to that local engine on 127.0.0.1.
No telemetry
Nothing is measured, counted or sent back. We don’t track how you use it — by design, we can’t see it at all.
No account
Nothing to sign up for, no login, no profile. There’s no database of you to lose, leak or subpoena.
Sovereign by design
Private documents — contracts, medical records, tax filings — stay yours. Rooted in local-first software and European digital sovereignty.
Renaming a document shouldn’t require trusting it to a stranger. The work happens on your desk, in your hands.
It reads the formats you actually have.
Renomino reads by format, not by app — anything exported to a common type works. What it can’t read, it tells you how to convert. Executables, media and archives are left untouched.

What people ask first.
No. Renomino reads and renames every file entirely on your machine. The AI model runs locally on your own hardware, and the only network request the app makes is to that local engine. There is no cloud, no telemetry and no account.
Yes — this is a core feature. A local vision model performs OCR on scanned PDFs and image files (JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF and iPhone HEIC) and names them from their content. For photos with no text, it names them by what they depict, using the photo’s capture date.
You’re always in control. In review mode you edit, accept or skip each suggestion. Dry-run shows every intended change without touching a single file, and any rename can be undone with one click — there’s a full local audit log behind it.
It reads PDF, Word (doc/docx), OpenDocument, RTF, PowerPoint, Excel (xls/xlsx), CSV/TSV, plain text, Markdown and saved emails — plus scans and images via vision. Formats it can’t read directly are flagged with advice on what to convert them to; executables, video and archives are ignored.
It keeps the document’s own language — French, Portuguese and English are first-class — so an invoice stays a Facture or a Fatura rather than being translated away. Diacritics are folded by default so filenames stay portable across tools and filesystems.
A Mac and a local AI model served on your machine (via oMLX). Once that’s set up, Renomino works without an internet connection. A friendlier, self-contained release is on the way — that’s what the early-access list is for.
