EVIDENCE
Collect and correlate repeated observations across tools, entities and time. One alert is an observation; it is not automatically the truth.
A framework for defensible operational decisions
StateWorks is an evidence-led operating framework for turning monitoring noise into a defensible understanding of state and the next action that deserves attention.
Built around the operational problem and the systems already in use, not a prescribed technology stack.
StateWorks is currently in development ahead of formal launch. We welcome early expressions of interest while the business is being established.
Evidence → State → Action
An alert says something crossed a threshold. StateWorks asks the harder question: what do we actually know, does it prove a meaningful operational state, and which action is most defensible first?
Collect and correlate repeated observations across tools, entities and time. One alert is an observation; it is not automatically the truth.
Determine whether the available evidence proves a meaningful operational condition with enough confidence to warrant intervention.
Select the first response supported by the strongest defensible evidence pattern, then preserve the reasoning behind it.
Exceptions are reviewed deliberately, not ignored. The framework makes uncertainty visible instead of quietly converting it into automation.
From noise to confidence
Modern operations teams already have the signals. What they lack is a consistent, auditable way to turn them into a decision across observability, RMM, CMDB and service-management systems.
Reduce false urgency.
Separate isolated threshold events from evidence patterns that prove impact.
Make action explainable.
Preserve why a state was established and why a particular response came first.
Automate with restraint.
Use confidence, blockers and exceptions as first-class decision inputs.
Different by design
Many service models begin with a platform, licence bundle or repeatable operating package. StateWorks begins with the operational question the organisation needs answered, then determines which evidence, technology and controls can support that answer defensibly.
A managed stack is not the same as a managed state.
| Product-led starting point | StateWorks starting point |
|---|---|
| Which package or platform fits? | Which operational decision needs to become trustworthy? |
| How do we deploy the standard stack? | What evidence already exists, and what is missing, stale or conflicting? |
| Which alert or threshold should trigger action? | Does the evidence establish a state that warrants action? |
| Was the ticket or task completed? | Did the action improve the state, and how was that verified? |
The framework remains consistent. Its application reflects the organisation’s operating model, risk, existing estate and required outcome. More technology is not the objective; better-supported decisions are.
Activity is not evidence of improvement. Service measures must remain connected to the state they claim to represent.
Who this is for
StateWorks is being shaped for people who need multiple platforms to produce one clear, defensible operational outcome.
Connect evidence across tools, know where to start and preserve why that action came first.
See one defensible operational state without hiding uncertainty, blockers or exceptions.
Standardise reasoning and action across customers without flattening important differences in context.
Add an evidence and decision layer around the platforms already in use, without pretending one vendor represents the whole operational truth.
Platform experience
StateWorks is informed by hands-on experience with RMM and observability platforms, particularly SolarWinds and NinjaOne, alongside automation, CMDB and service-management tooling. These platforms are practical starting points, not a prescribed technology stack. The StateWorks framework is designed to adapt to the technology already in use, retaining, configuring or integrating systems according to the evidence they contribute and the decisions they enable.
StateWorks is also being developed for ongoing managed and co-managed delivery. The same evidence-led discipline can be applied not only to implementation and advisory work, but to the continuing operation, oversight and improvement of the environment.
StateWorks Perspective
Uptime, SLA, ticket, alert, compliance and automation measures can all be useful evidence. The problem begins when the metric becomes the conclusion.
