I think one of the best things about the @GdalOrg 3.9 release is going to be the refactor to the drivers such that they can be loaded in a deferred way without much performance impact. This will allow GDAL's huge dependency footprint to be managed much more effectively.
GDAL 3.9 was released today with a bunch of updates for @GeoParquet, including support for spatial filtering in the upcoming GeoParquet 1.1 version! Credit to @EvenRouault and other GDAL contributors 🙇♂️!
