I hate to be this guy, but this is big tech being passive. These companies pull their locale data from official government sources. When the gov database updates, the mapping provider updates shortly after. en-US is based on GNIS. Same reason the Gulf was updated.

It's not very subtle, but Israel owns Trump. Notice that Nat is in front of Trump. Since it's in English, read left to right, their flag and pictures also come first. Trump's the obedient dog in this relationship.
