Understanding the historical roadmap
The early PhoneGap roadmap URL was cited when discussing supported devices and native capabilities. A roadmap describes work in progress; it should be read separately from the documentation for an actual release. Support differed by platform, API and version.

The matrix preserved here belongs to its identified repository snapshot. It is not presented as the missing early wiki table. For a particular capability, check the API page’s supported-platform and platform-quirk sections as well as the project’s version.
Later direction
PhoneGap’s 2017 Moving Forward article described an effort to bring plugin APIs closer to web standards and discussed progressive web applications. That later strategy is distinct from the early compatibility roadmap.
Project status
PhoneGap development and the hosted Build service ended in 2020. Historical plans do not imply a future PhoneGap release. Current Cordova platform guidance is available in the Apache Cordova documentation.
